About Michaela Borg

natalie counsellor

My name is Michaela. I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and I work with adults who are looking for support with a range of issues. I am based in North Wales.

I've supported adult clients from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their own unique experiences and challenges. Just as no two individuals are the same, neither are the reasons people seek therapy. My experience includes working with a wide range of issues such as grief and loss, anxiety, low mood or depression, stress, and the impact of sexual violence including childhood sexual abuse.

My work is trauma-informed and I am an LGBTQ+ affirmative counsellor.

Whether you're dealing with a specific concern or simply feeling stuck—unable to move forward or enjoy the things that once brought you joy—counselling can offer support. So, whatever issues you are dealing with, for example, loss, anxiety, stress or a sense of losing touch with who you are, I'm here to help you navigate these difficulties and to rediscover meaning and direction in your life.

I specialise in bereavement & loss. Loss can come in many forms and can feel overwhelming and life-changing. Whether you're grieving, having lost a loved one or a pet, or have some other loss such as a job loss, for example redundancy or retirement, losing your independence through illness or a relationship breakdown, I am here to provide support and help you work through the difficult emotions that you may be feeling. This may include feeling stuck in your grief, anxiety and panic, anger, depression, or loss of confidence and a sense of who you are. Your loss may also have left you feeling isolated or led to family conflict.

I understand that everyone's experience with loss is unique, and I will work with you to create a personalized approach that fits your individual needs, enabling you to find ways to move forward into a ‘new normal’ in a healthy and meaningful way. Counselling will provide a safe and compassionate space for you to explore your feelings and emotions around loss.

How I work with clients

I am a fully-insured member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical framework in all aspects of my counselling work.

I work with an integrative model of counselling which is a holistic approach that draws on several different theories and techniques to create a personalised plan that is tailored to each individual client. This approach recognises that each person is unique and therefore requires a customised approach that takes into account their individual needs, goals and circumstances.

Fees and appointments

To get started, please email me on borgcounselling@gmail.com or call 07714 037 007 and leave a message. I'll call you back as soon as possible.

We will set up a free 30-minute telephone call when we can discuss how we may work together and I can tell you a little about my counselling service.

If we go on to work together then we will arrange a session lasting 50 minutes. You can choose to have the same time each week or, alternatively, we can flex this if you want to have sessions less frequently or on a schedule that changes.

I offer sessions online or on the phone, as you prefer. The cost for this is £45 per session and you will need to pay in advance by BACs (bank transfer).

I can also offer in person sessions in at Leaf Health, Llandudno. The cost for these sessions is £55. Click here for details of where Leaf is.

The number of sessions that you have is something we will review regularly and will depend on the complexity of your issues. This will always be your choice. Some clients need short-term treatment, often 6 to 12 sessions and others benefit from longer term counselling which can last as long as you need.
